Hotel Program

The Hotel Program has served 3,193 survivors and their children since the early days of the COVID epidemic. Since April 2020, member programs have referred survivors whose hotel stays are arranged by ODVN staff. The program, which has significantly expanded Ohio’s ability to shelter survivors, has been paid for with more than $2.3 million in FVPSA funds, mostly from the American Rescue Plan.

The Hotel Program is designed to be a short-term housing option for survivors when shelters are full or survivors have health or other issues that make shelter unfeasible. Applications must be submitted on behalf of a survivor by an advocate from an ODVN member program.

Process Highlights

  • Most hotel stays for 5 nights or less will be approved.
  • If you are requesting a stay for longer than 5 nights, you will need the approval of the ODVN Director of Program Services.
  • You may request extensions for clients. Simply provide the reasoning and how long an extension is needed. If approved, ODVN will contact the hotel to extend the stay.
