Community Shares of Mid Ohio (COSMO)

  • Remember to Support ODVN at your Workplace this Year! ODVN is a member agency of Community Shares of Mid Ohio (COSMO). COSMO is a coalition of 55+ nonprofit organizations like ODVN working for positive social change and a healthy community. We participate in the following workplace giving campaigns: State of Ohio, Franklin County, The Ohio State University, City of Columbus, Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Central Ohio, CFC Miami Valley, CFC North Central Ohio, CFC of 3 Rivers, Columbus Metropolitan Libraries, Columbus State Community College, OCSEA, AFSCME, Hahn Loeser Parks, etc. Please visit www.communityshares.net for a list of all campaigns

  • Each fall, employees pledge donations to the organizations that work on the issues they care about the most. For ODVN, these funds provide the financial support necessary to forward our public policy efforts on behalf of victims of domestic violence.

You can help by designating your charitable donation to Ohio Domestic Violence Network through your workplace giving campaign. In so doing, you will help ensure that this important work continues and that Ohio is a safer place for all residents.

Making Donations to local organizations

  • Donations in the form of money, time, or charitable goods are always welcomed by non-profit organizations. If you are interested in making a donation to your local program, we ask that you contact the program first to find out what their specific needs may be. Many shelters and domestic violence programs in Ohio compile a “wish-list” of specific items that are needed for the women and children they serve. Contacting your local program to uncover their specific needs is very important because often times they are flooded with too many items such as clothing and not enough of others, such as personal grooming products. You can use this website to find contact information for the specific domestic violence program that serves your county. On behalf of the entire coalition, we would like to thank in advance for your commitment and support.

Donating Cell Phones

  • The donation of cells for refurbishment has been very popular within the last few years with the advent of NCADV’s CALL to Protect program and the support of other corporate entities. The donated wireless phones are reprogrammed with numbers for law enforcement and local domestic violence shelters with donated airtime. Once reprogrammed the phones are given to survivors who are leaving abusive relationships as a part of safety planning. When donating your phone we ask that you make sure your service is deactivated and that you provide the battery as well as charger. Please also note that all domestic violence shelters are non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, so your phone and the cost of shipping are all tax deductible.

Cell phones may be sent directly to ODVN or donated to a local shelter. For more infomation about donating your cell phone please call 800-934-9840, ext. 224.
